Every month at Hybrid, we put a colleague in the spotlight. We let them reflect on their journey, the challenges, and the successes. This time it’s Jolien’s turn, who started as an intern six years ago and today is a permanent and valued member of the Hybrid team.
When Jolien took her first steps at Hybrid in 2019, one thing immediately struck her: the open atmosphere. She felt welcome, could be herself, and from the very beginning was given space to learn and experiment.
“From day one there was an open atmosphere where I could truly be myself. What attracted me most was that Hybrid was a young company. Not only in age, but especially in mindset.”
That internship period proved to be the ideal learning ground. Shortly after, Jolien officially became a colleague and was allowed to manage her first client file—a significant milestone that helped her grow and gain confidence.
What started with a smaller B2B client quickly expanded into collaborations with larger retailers and e-commerce companies. In the meantime, her role has grown further: she supports new colleagues, leads the quality project within Hybrid, and increasingly takes on organizational tasks.
“Taking on my first client file was a big challenge, but at the same time an enormous learning experience. You learn fastest by taking full responsibility yourself.”
This combination of technical expertise and organizational involvement made Jolien a versatile and indispensable force within Hybrid.
For Jolien, work is not only about results but above all about partnership. She feels most in her element in teams where there is a collegial atmosphere and both parties truly build toward a goal together.
At Hybrid, this translates into a role as a calm, structured colleague who always maintains an overview.
“I try to make a difference by communicating clearly and honestly. It’s important to me that clients and colleagues always know where they stand.”
Of course, her journey did not go without bumps. Jolien had to learn to handle pressure and stress, and discovered that sometimes taking a step back is the best way to move forward again. External meetings and presentations at clients also pushed her out of her comfort zone.
“Every time I stepped out of my comfort zone, my self-confidence grew. It’s beautiful to see how that little by little becomes a new part of your comfort zone.”
Those experiences made her stronger and gave her the confidence to take on challenges repeatedly.
Today Jolien looks ahead with energy. She sees herself growing together with Hybrid and looks forward to the opportunities yet to come. Thinking back to her start as an intern, she would give herself one piece of advice: don’t wait, actively ask for feedback.
It is precisely that attitude (curious, reliable, and collegial) that makes Jolien an indispensable link within the team today. Her story shows how quality and collaboration go hand in hand and how, with the right mindset, you can continue to grow.
