Why humanity and ownership are at the core of Evi’s role at Hybrid

What started as a consultancy assignment evolved into a strategic role within Hybrid. Evi began as a Talent & People Manager on an external basis, but quickly became much more than that. Today, she is a key pillar within the team, actively helping shape how Hybrid grows as an organization, not only in numbers, but above all in people.

Her journey is one of earning trust, taking responsibility, and safeguarding culture while everything around her continues to move.

From consultant to internal driving force

Evi joined at a time when Hybrid consciously decided to invest in a dedicated point of contact for employees. Previously, HR responsibilities were fragmented between the CEO and the former COO, and there was a clear need for focus, structure, and most importantly someone who could truly sense the team’s sentiment.

Initially, her focus was on recruitment and reviewing and optimizing the existing processes around selection and performance management. But it quickly became clear that her role would expand beyond operational HR support.

“What I really appreciated was the trust I received right away. Even as a consultant, I immediately felt like one of the team. I was given carte blanche to take things on.”

She experienced very few limitations in her scope. Instead of simply advising, she was given the space to take action. She became involved in strategic meetings, contributed to organization-wide thinking, and noticed that she was increasingly seen as Hybrid’s internal HR manager.

“What started as consultancy evolved into truly helping shape how Hybrid grows. That’s something I couldn’t have predicted on day one.”

Building an environment, not just processes

What gives Evi energy is not only optimizing performance management or recruitment processes. It’s building an environment where people can grow.

She quickly saw how much impact culture, clarity, and guidance have on teams.

“When culture and guidance are strong, you see teams become stronger and results follow naturally.”

The prospect of helping build, over the long term, how people develop, how ownership is strengthened, and how well-being is sustainably embedded in the organization became her real motivation.

Safeguarding culture while growing

Evi describes Hybrid as people-oriented, ambitious, and honest an organization where the bar is set high, but where there is also space for enjoyment and connection.

What she personally finds most important to protect as the team grows? Ensuring that openness and accessibility are not lost.

In small teams, connection happens naturally. In a growing organization, you have to consciously continue investing in it. Everyone should feel heard and understand what the organization stands for.

She is especially proud of the moments when Hybrid invests in people before it becomes necessary: taking time for feedback, creating clear growth paths, and communicating transparently about decisions.

Trust as the foundation

As the HR lead, Evi is a point of contact for many colleagues. Her role requires visibility, but above all a willingness to listen.

“I try to be visible and approachable, but above all to listen without judgment.”

According to her, trust is not built with big words, but with consistency.

“Doing what you say, communicating clearly, and not avoiding difficult conversations. People quickly sense whether something is genuine.”

In a scale-up environment, tension, change, and difficult conversations are inevitable. She doesn’t try to avoid them, but to approach them respectfully. Separating facts from interpretations and conducting conversations with both empathy and clarity is, for her, the key.

Growing while everything moves

One of her biggest learning experiences has been helping build something while there is no predefined playbook.

“There is no manual. You have to set priorities, make decisions, and sometimes act with incomplete information.”

That process made her stronger. But above all, realizing that she does not have to do it alone brought peace of mind.

She learned that great responsibility can be both exciting and enjoyable. That she doesn’t have to carry everything by herself. And that her intuition is often right something she has learned to trust more.

Difficult conversations or defending decisions, such as during a dismissal, pushed her out of her comfort zone. It was precisely there that she discovered how important the balance between clarity and empathy is.

Looking ahead

For the future, Evi wants to continue professionalizing the organization without losing the agility that defines Hybrid. She wants Hybrid to remain a place where talented people love to work and where they want to stay for the long term.

For HR, she sees a clear strategic role: helping think about which people are needed, how they develop, and how culture and performance can continue to reinforce each other.

What she absolutely wants to preserve? Humanity.

“No matter how big we grow, we should never become just numbers to one another.”

Advice that stays with you

Her advice to new colleagues is simple: take ownership, ask questions, and don’t wait on the sidelines.
