You may have already heard of Zapier. Zapier is an amazing tool that will save you a lot of time and effort. It’s a convenient way to make different apps communicate with each other. In this article, we’ll explain why Zapier is such a game-changer for Hybrid, and we’ll provide you with some examples of how you can use Zapier to make these various apps work together optimally.

What is Zapier?

Zapier is a handy tool that creates connections between different apps, acting as an intermediary to make the apps work together. This way, you can automate processes and save yourself a lot of operational work. Working with Zapier is very easy. You set up your flow once through the intuitive app, and the program does the rest of the work for you. Many tools you currently use have seamless integration: Slack, Facebook, Google Drive, Mailchimp, and many more are all included.

Why does Hybrid recommend Zapier?

At Hybrid, we make extensive use of Zapier. We most frequently use Zapier for setting up Facebook lead ads. We then connect them to the following:

  • Google Analytics to track sign-ups.
  • An automated email to notify clients of a new lead so it can be followed up.
  • Mailchimp to ensure that leads are added to our contact list in Mailchimp for later lead nurturing.

This is just one example of how you can use Zapier to automate your processes, but the app is very flexible. With a starter plan or higher, you can add as many steps as you find useful.

Another benefit of Zapier is that you don’t need complicated code to

What can I use Zapier for?

Now that you know what Zapier is and that we at Hybrid use it extensively to boost our efficiency, you might wonder what you can use it for in practice. Here are a few examples:

1. Facebook Lead Ads

When you create a Facebook lead ad, all your leads are stored in your Facebook account’s form library. You can access these leads for 90 days, after which they disappear. This means that in addition to regular follow-up, a Facebook lead ad requires some attention to ensure that no leads are lost. This is where Zapier comes in.

With Zapier, you can fully automate this process, ensuring that all your conversions are centralized in Google Analytics, and that an automatic Google Spreadsheet list is generated for the sales team to work with.

Here’s how it works in Zapier:

  1. First, you set the trigger for Zapier. In this case, it’s from the Facebook Lead Ad.

  1. Next, you set up the webhook. This ensures that the information from your lead ad can be sent to Google Analytics.

2. Unbounce Forms

With Unbounce, you can easily set up landing pages and use forms to generate new leads. Just like with Facebook, these leads will come into your Unbounce account. Managing all these different accounts can make it difficult to efficiently track your leads, but again, Zapier can help.

When a new lead comes through your website, you can set up Zapier to automatically send the lead’s data to Mailchimp. The lead will then be tagged with a relevant label in Mailchimp. Once the lead enters Mailchimp, you can trigger an automatic email to the responsible sales team member. This way, no leads will be overlooked.

Here’s how it works in Zapier:

  1. Start by setting up the first step: the trigger in Unbounce. This is where the leads will come in, so they need to be sent out from here.

  1. Next, you set up Mailchimp to add the subscriber to your mailing list. Make sure to assign the lead to the correct list in your Mailchimp account.

  1. Next, set up an action to send an email to the responsible person in the sales team. This ensures that the team member is notified immediately about the new lead for timely follow-up.

3. LinkedIn Lead Ads

Just like the aforementioned platforms, leads on LinkedIn are stored in the account itself. To measure all conversions centrally, you can forward them to Google Analytics via Zapier. Then, you can generate a Google Spreadsheet list that your sales team can work from. If you are using a CRM system like Hubspot or Teamleader, you can also ensure that the new lead is entered into your system. The sales team can then continue from there. To avoid losing track of leads, you can send a reminder email to the responsible person for each new lead.

Here’s how it looks in Zapier:

  1. Set where the new lead is coming from. In this case, it’s LinkedIn.

4. Error Notifications via Slack

Just like with any other technology, things can go wrong with Zapier. This could be due to a misconfiguration, a change in a connected app, a login that needs to be renewed, etc. To ensure you’re immediately notified when something goes wrong, you can set up Zapier to send you a message when an error occurs. This can be done, for example, through Slack.

Here’s how it looks in Zapier:

  1. Set a trigger for when Zapier needs to act. In this case, it’s an error from a Zap.
