Last Tuesday, the crème de la crème of digital marketing went head-to-head with each other. The main goal was to win the Data-Driven YMCE award. Hybrid was represented by Alexander and Diego. They showcased their best efforts in this competition for young media agencies and specialized organizations.

Yesterday, the 3 nominated teams were announced:

  • Bella Kabeya (Phd) & Maxime Leblicq (Space)
  • Lyse Saintjean (Space) and Tim Vanacker (Havas)
  • Laura Sierra Alvarez (Space) & Diego Llera (Hybrid Agency)

The winners will be crowned on November 29, during UMA Day. We are already crossing our fingers for the title! 🤞

What is the YMCE award about?

During the event, participants received a briefing from an unknown advertiser. At the end of the day, 8 teams presented their analysis and recommendations for data-driven marketing to the YMCE jury.

The competition was held at Bisnode, where Gino Baeck, CEO of GroupM and vice president of UMA, gave an encouraging speech to the young participants.

10 of the participants were part of a UMA agency. The other 6 participants were young professionals from specialized organizations such as Rising Lab, Blue2Purple, Pivott, Ogilvy-Social.lab, and our own Hybrid Agency.

The client for the day was Simon De Pauw, Digital Communication Manager at Volkswagen Belgium. His briefing focused on a lead generation and conversion campaign for the T-Roc Model, based on explicit data from previous campaigns. The participants were then divided into teams of two. They had five hours to develop a strategy for selling 1000 Volkswagen T-Roc models.
